Pretty good. I managed to beat it. There should be a score penalty for each click.

Also, the game is cut off around the edges.

JelleVermandere responds:

Thanks, that's a good idea, i'll see what I can do about the cropping

I also use Stencyl, so it's always good to see other people using it. I played through the game to get each ending, (the river scene gave me trouble until I figured out what I was supposed to do.)

You got some interesting ideas here, but it needs lots of work. I note you're using stock/found graphics but don't worry about that. Graphics are easy to replace.

Bullets bounce off enemies rather than being destroyed, and it's not always clear where you should be heading. Some collision shapes are also a bit off.

However, keep learning and keep improving.

About5000Ninjas responds:

Thank you so much for your feedback! This is my first time using Stencyl so it contained a lot of experimenting. I'll definitely try to work on the collisions and bullet some more when I get the free time.

It looks great, but there's something really off about the controls. It would work better with just left/right control.

EvilObjective responds:

The controls are wonky because the sub is always in a nose-dive. It's a metaphor for ambition.

Just having a snap-to-grid behaviour would greatly improve it.

Keep making games and having fun doing it. Be sure to keep improving while you do.

HrshXD responds:

Thank you so much these are the types of comments that keep me going .BTW what do you mean snap to grid.I know what snap to grid is but like what do you mean regarding this.BTW looked at your stuff you are great a total different lvl than me.I hope one day my low experience can become your experience.

It's not too bad, and I found myself playing until the end, though that didn't take me very long. With additional upgrades, maybe some secrets and missions it could be good.

The main negative is the controls as they were too unresponsive and it was far too easy to overshoot where you wanted to go.

Serious07 responds:

I agree that the control in the game is not perfect, I have always had problems with writing the player’s controls on the tiles, if you can offer options for improving the responsiveness of the controls with shifting along the tiles, I’d be happy to hear them in a personal message.

Thank you for playing our game!

This was actually pretty entertaining. Mostly the difficulty wasn't too bad and ramped up nicely, but the cop car and wife were a little frustrating, and the second frying pan was annoying. The hole in the sock was just torturous. Especially as I managed to complete it, but then the game glitched. Sometimes after completing a stage, the word 'BOLTED' will slide part way on but get stuck, meaning you have to quit and try again.

I'd really like to know how many levels there are so I know how I'm progressing. Finally, the phone one is bugged. The bolt got stuck and wasn't dropped from teh hand.

DeadHeadStd responds:

Thanks for reply, i will check these bugs and fix them, for now game have about 50 levels.

Good to see that you're trying new mechanics. The graphics style I still enjoy, but it can become a bit cluttered. Look at using a selective colour palette to help differentiate between objects and the background.

The text/hud still needs work. Guages would show progress or time better.

I still think that 5 min is a huge amount of time! Maybe use minutes as checkpoints rather than have a five-minute goal.

CraftyPapeartGames responds:

Hey Jeffrey! Thanks again for the review and the advice. For starters, after your comment, I changed the layout a bit and dimmed down the buildings. I think, it looks nicer now.

Making a gauge sounds interesting, but I will have to teach my self how as I am new to all of this. Pig Bird is my first and only game so far. I am using the reviews here to make the game better. Basically, each level goes through a revision and these changes end up in the mobile version of the game.

Point taken on the length of the game. I am thinking of making making a checkpoint system, just need to figure out how exactly how it will work.

Anyway, thanks a lot!

Have you had people test endless mode? Because it's really hard. the regular levels were tough and a couple felt a little unfair in places as they seemed a little more luck than skill based.

It's a pretty good game though, but endless mode should lose the spike wall that follows you.

AlienPlay responds:

The main premise of endless mode was to make the game's pacing faster and test your skills in a bit different way.
Anyways, Thanks for feedback JeffreyDriver!

The idea is quite nice, but it really needs something to mix it up as each level feels almost identical. Graphics and audio are good.

BoarCub responds:

Thanks for the feedback. I may add better levels in a future version.
